¹² “Test your servants for ^(A)ten days; let us be given vegetables to eat and water to drink.

^2 (A)One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables.

^16 (A)So the steward took away their food and the wine they were to drink, and gave them ^(B)vegetables.

²⁹ And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. ^(A)You shall have them for food. ³⁰ And ^(B)to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so.

³ And he humbled you and ^(A)let you hunger and ^(B)fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that ^(C)man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word^[a] that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
