El séptimo sello
8 Cuando el Cordero rompió el séptimo sello, hubo silencio en el cielo durante casi media hora.
2 Luego vi a los siete ángeles de pie ante Dios y cada uno recibió una trompeta.
3 Llegó otro ángel y se puso de pie frente al altar. Tenía un recipiente de oro con mucho incienso para ofrecerlo junto con las oraciones de todo el pueblo de Dios[a]. Así que puso esta ofrenda sobre el altar de oro que estaba frente al trono. 4 El humo del incienso salió del recipiente que el ángel tenía en la mano y llegó ante Dios junto con las oraciones de su pueblo. 5 Luego, el ángel tomó el recipiente donde estaba el incienso, lo llenó con fuego del altar y lo arrojó sobre la tierra. Hubo truenos, ruidos, rayos y un terremoto.
Los siete ángeles tocan las trompetas
6 Luego los siete ángeles con las siete trompetas se prepararon para tocarlas.
7 El primer ángel tocó la trompeta, y cayeron sobre la tierra granizo y fuego mezclados con sangre. Se quemaron la tercera parte de la tierra, la tercera parte de los árboles y todo el pasto.
8 El segundo ángel tocó la trompeta, y cayó sobre el mar algo parecido a una gran montaña envuelta en llamas que hizo que la tercera parte del mar se convirtiera en sangre. 9 Murió la tercera parte de todos los seres del mar y fue destruida la tercera parte de todos los barcos.
10 El tercer ángel tocó la trompeta, y cayó del cielo una gran estrella encendida como una antorcha, sobre la tercera parte de los ríos y los manantiales. 11 La estrella se llamaba Ajenjo[b] y volvió amarga la tercera parte del agua de los ríos. Mucha gente murió por haber bebido de esa agua.
12 El cuarto ángel tocó la trompeta y la tercera parte del sol, la luna y las estrellas fueron golpeadas y se oscurecieron. Así, una tercera parte del día y de la noche quedaron sin luz.
13 Entonces, vi un águila volando alto y oí que decía con voz fuerte: «Desastres, desastres, desastres para los habitantes de la tierra. Comenzarán después de que los tres últimos ángeles toquen las trompetas».

The Seventh Seal and the Golden Censer
8 When the Lamb opened (A)the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2 Then I saw the seven angels (B)who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. 3 And another angel came and stood (C)at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with (D)the prayers of all the saints on (E)the golden altar before the throne, 4 and (F)the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel. 5 Then the angel took the censer and (G)filled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth, and (H)there were peals of (I)thunder, rumblings,[a] flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.
The Seven Trumpets
6 Now the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to blow them.
7 The first angel blew his trumpet, and there followed (J)hail and (K)fire, mixed with blood, and these were thrown upon the earth. And a (L)third of the earth was burned up, and a third of (M)the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.
8 The second angel blew his trumpet, and something like (N)a great mountain, burning with fire, was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea (O)became blood. 9 A third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of (P)the ships were destroyed.
10 The third angel blew his trumpet, and (Q)a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on (R)the springs of water. 11 The name of the star is Wormwood.[b] A third of the waters (S)became wormwood, and many people died from the water, (T)because it had been made bitter.
12 The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of (U)the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of their light might be darkened, and a third of the day might be kept from shining, and likewise a third of the night.
13 Then I looked, and I heard an eagle crying with a loud voice as it flew directly overhead, (V)“Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell on the earth, at the blasts of the other trumpets that the three angels are about to blow!”
