Amos 1:6-8

⁶Ganito ang sabi ng Panginoon: Dahil sa tatlong pagsalangsang ^(A)ng Gaza, oo, dahil sa apat, hindi ko ihihiwalay ang kaparusahan sa kaniya; ^(B)sapagka't kanilang dinalang bihag ang buong bayan, ^(C)upang ibigay sa Edom.

⁷Nguni't ako'y magsusugo ng isang apoy sa kuta ng Gaza, at susupukin niyaon ang mga palacio niyaon:

⁸At aking ihihiwalay ang mananahan mula sa Asdod, at siyang humahawak ng cetro mula sa Ascalon; at aking ipipihit ang aking kamay laban sa Ecron, at ^(D)ang nalabi sa mga Filisteo ay malilipol, sabi ng Panginoong Dios.

⁶This is what the Lord says:

“For three sins of Gaza,^(A)
    even for four, I will not relent.^(B)
Because she took captive whole communities
    and sold them to Edom,^(C)
⁷I will send fire on the walls of Gaza
    that will consume her fortresses.
⁸I will destroy the king^[a] of Ashdod^(D)
    and the one who holds the scepter in Ashkelon.
I will turn my hand^(E) against Ekron,
    till the last of the Philistines^(F) are dead,”^(G)
says the Sovereign Lord.^(H)

To deliver them up to Edom.

Which shall devour its palaces.
⁸I will cut off the inhabitant ^(C)from Ashdod,
And the one who holds the scepter from Ashkelon;
I will ^(D)turn My hand against Ekron,
And ^(E)the remnant of the Philistines shall perish,”
Says the Lord God.

    to deliver them up to Edom.

    and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon;
I will turn my hand against Ekron,
