Amos 1:4-6

^4 (A)So I will send a fire upon the house of ^(B)Hazael,
    and it shall devour the strongholds of ^(C)Ben-hadad.
⁵ I will ^(D)break the gate-bar of ^(E)Damascus,
    and cut off the inhabitants from the Valley of ^(F)Aven,^[a]
and him who holds the sceptre from ^(G)Beth-eden;
    and the people of ^(H)Syria shall go into exile to ^(I)Kir,”
says the Lord.

^(J)“For three transgressions of ^(K)Gaza,
    and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because ^(L)they carried into exile a whole people
    to deliver them up to Edom.
