³⁷ But it happened in those days that she became sick and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in ^(A)an upper room.

¹³ And when they had entered, they went up ^(A)into the upper room where they were staying: ^(B)Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and ^(C)Simon the Zealot; and ^(D)Judas the son of James.

⁸ There were many lamps ^(A)in the upper room where ^[a]they were gathered together.

³⁹ Then Peter arose and went with them. When he had come, they brought him to the upper room. And all the widows stood by him weeping, showing the tunics and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.

³⁶ Then the Jews said, “See how He loved him!”

³⁷ And some of them said, “Could not this Man, ^(A)who opened the eyes of the blind, also have kept this man from dying?”

³ Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, “Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.”

⁴ When Jesus heard that, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”

¹⁵ Then he will show you a large upper room, furnished and prepared; there make ready for us.”
