²³ After many days had passed, the Jews conspired to kill him,

¹⁹ serving the Lord with all humility, with tears, and during the trials that came to me through the plots of the Jews.^(A)

The Plot against Paul

¹² When it was morning, the Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves under a curse not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul.^(A)

³ asking for a favour against Paul, that Festus summon him to Jerusalem. They were, in fact, preparing an ambush along the road to kill him.

²⁶ On frequent journeys, I faced dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers,^(A) dangers from my own people,^(B) dangers from Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, and dangers among false brothers;
