⁴⁰ Philip, however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the towns^(A) until he reached Caesarea.^(B)

⁶ But they found out about it and fled^(A) to the Lycaonian cities of Lystra and Derbe and to the surrounding country, ⁷ where they continued to preach^(B) the gospel.^(C)

²⁰ But after the disciples^(A) had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city. The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe.

The Return to Antioch in Syria

²¹ They preached the gospel^(B) in that city and won a large number^(C) of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium^(D) and Antioch,

¹⁹ “So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient^(A) to the vision from heaven. ²⁰ First to those in Damascus,^(B) then to those in Jerusalem^(C) and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles,^(D) I preached that they should repent^(E) and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds.^(F)

¹⁹ by the power of signs and wonders,^(A) through the power of the Spirit of God.^(B) So from Jerusalem^(C) all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.^{(D) 20} It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel^(E) where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.^(F)

¹⁷ But the Lord stood at my side^(A) and gave me strength,^(B) so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it.^(C) And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth.^(D)
