36 [a]For before these times, rose up Theudas [b]boasting himself, to whom resorted a number of men, about a four hundred, who was slain: and they all which obeyed him were scattered, and brought to naught.
37 After this man, arose up Judas of Galilee, in the days of the tribute, and drew away much people after him: he also perished, and all that obeyed him, were scattered abroad.
38 And now I say unto you, [c]Refrain yourselves from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel, or this work be of [d]men, it will come to naught:
