¹⁸ I saw a vision of Jesus^[a] saying to me, ‘Hurry! Leave Jerusalem, for the people here won’t accept your testimony about me.’

²⁹ He debated with some Greek-speaking Jews, but they tried to murder him.

²¹ Then those in Judea must flee to the hills. Those in Jerusalem must get out, and those out in the country should not return to the city.

¹⁴ If any household or town refuses to welcome you or listen to your message, shake its dust from your feet as you leave.

⁶ No, I am not sending you to people with strange and difficult speech. If I did, they would listen! ⁷ But the people of Israel won’t listen to you any more than they listen to me! For the whole lot of them are hard-hearted and stubborn.

¹⁹ Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.

²³ When you are persecuted in one town, flee to the next. I tell you the truth, the Son of Man^[a] will return before you have reached all the towns of Israel.
