⁶ He is lodging with ^(A)Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea. ^(B)He^[a] will tell you what you must do.”

⁴³ So it was that he stayed many days in Joppa with ^(A)Simon, a tanner.

⁸ Therefore He says:

^9 (B)(Now this, “He ascended”—what does it mean but that He also ^[a]first descended into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ He who descended is also the One ^(C)who ascended far above all the heavens, ^(D)that He might fill all things.)

¹¹ And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, ¹² for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, ^(E)for the ^[b]edifying of ^(F)the body of Christ,

Israel Rejects the Gospel

¹⁴ How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear ^(A)without a preacher? ¹⁵ And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:

¹⁶ But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, ^(C)“Lord, who has believed our report?” ¹⁷ So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

^13 (A)And he told us how he had seen an angel standing in his house, who said to him, ‘Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon whose surname is Peter, ¹⁴ who will tell you words by which you and all your household will be saved.’

⁶ So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?”

Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

^17 (A)If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.
