²¹Et Achitophel dit à Absalom: Va vers les concubines que ton père a laissées pour garder la maison; ainsi tout Israël saura que tu t'es rendu odieux à ton père, et les mains de tous ceux qui sont avec toi se fortifieront.

²²On dressa pour Absalom une tente sur le toit, et Absalom alla vers les concubines de son père, aux yeux de tout Israël.

²¹Ahithophel answered, “Sleep with your father’s concubines whom he left to take care of the palace. Then all Israel will hear that you have made yourself obnoxious to your father, and the hands of everyone with you will be more resolute.” ²²So they pitched a tent for Absalom on the roof, and he slept with his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.^(A)
