God’s Covenant with David

⁸ Now then, this is what you shall say to My servant David: ‘This is what the Lord of armies says: “^(A)I Myself took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, ^(B)to be leader over My people Israel.

⁴⁸ Then the king ^[a](A)promoted Daniel and gave him many great gifts, and he made him ruler over the entire ^(B)province of Babylon, and chief ^[b]prefect over all the wise men of Babylon.

⁵ Listen, ^(A)my beloved brothers and sisters: did ^(B)God not choose the poor ^[a]of this world to be ^(C)rich in faith and ^(D)heirs of the kingdom which He ^(E)promised to those who love Him?
