2 Samuel 5:6-8
New King James Version
The Conquest of Jerusalem(A)
6 (B)And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against (C)the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, “You shall not come in here; but the blind and the lame will repel you,” thinking, “David cannot come in here.” 7 Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion (D)(that is, the City of David).
8 Now David said on that day, “Whoever climbs up by way of the water shaft and defeats the Jebusites (the lame and the blind, who are hated by David’s soul), (E)he shall be chief and captain.” Therefore they say, “The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.”

New American Standard Bible
6 (A)Now the king and his men went to (B)Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land; and they said to [a]David, “You shall not come in here, but even those who are blind and those who limp will turn you away,” [b]thinking, “David cannot enter here.” 7 Nevertheless, David captured the stronghold of Zion, that is, (C)the city of David. 8 And David said on that day, “Whoever strikes the Jebusites is to reach those who limp and those who are blind, who are hated by David’s soul, through the water tunnel.” For that reason they say, “People who are blind and people who limp shall not come into the house.”
