6-7 Pumasok sila sa bahay na kunwariʼy kukuha ng trigo. Dumiretso sila sa kwarto ni Ishboshet kung saan nakahiga ito sa kama niya at pagkatapos, sinaksak nila ito sa tiyan. Pinutol nila ang ulo ni Ishboshet at dinala nila ito sa kanilang pagtakas. Buong gabi silang naglakbay sa Lambak ng Jordan.[a]
8 Pagdating nila sa Hebron, dinala nila kay David ang ulo ni Ishboshet at sinabi, “Narito po ang ulo ni Ishboshet ang anak ni Saul na kalaban nʼyo, na nagtangka sa inyong buhay. Sa araw na ito, ipinaghiganti kayo ng Panginoon laban kay Saul at sa angkan niya.”

6 Sila ay pumasok sa bahay na parang kukuha ng trigo, at kanilang sinaksak siya sa tiyan. At sina Recab at Baana na kanyang kapatid ay tumakas.
7 Sila ay nakapasok sa bahay, habang siya'y nakahiga sa kanyang higaan sa kanyang silid. Kanilang sinalakay siya, pinatay, at pinugutan ng ulo. Kinuha nila ang kanyang ulo at umalis na tinahak ang Araba buong gabi.
8 Kanilang dinala ang ulo ni Isboset kay David sa Hebron. Sinabi nila sa hari, “Narito ang ulo ni Isboset na anak ni Saul na iyong kaaway na nagtangka sa iyong buhay. Ipinaghiganti ng Panginoon ang aking panginoong hari sa araw na ito kay Saul, at sa kanyang binhi.”

6 They went into the inner part of the house as if to get some wheat, and they stabbed(A) him in the stomach. Then Rekab and his brother Baanah slipped away.
7 They had gone into the house while he was lying on the bed in his bedroom. After they stabbed and killed him, they cut off his head. Taking it with them, they traveled all night by way of the Arabah.(B) 8 They brought the head(C) of Ish-Bosheth to David at Hebron and said to the king, “Here is the head of Ish-Bosheth son of Saul,(D) your enemy, who tried to kill you. This day the Lord has avenged(E) my lord the king against Saul and his offspring.”

6 And they came thither into the midst of the house, as though they would have fetched wheat; and they smote him under the fifth rib: and Rechab and Baanah his brother escaped.
7 For when they came into the house, he lay on his bed in his bedchamber, and they smote him, and slew him, and beheaded him, and took his head, and gat them away through the plain all night.
8 And they brought the head of Ishbosheth unto David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold the head of Ishbosheth the son of Saul thine enemy, which sought thy life; and the Lord hath avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.
