²⁷ So when Abner returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside into the middle of the gate to speak with him privately, and there ^(A)he struck him in the belly, so that he died on account of the blood of his brother Asahel.

⁹ And Joab said to Amasa, “Is it going well for you, my brother?” And ^(A)Joab took hold of Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him.

¹⁰ But Amasa was not on guard against the sword which was in Joab’s hand, so ^(A)he struck him in the belly with it and spilled out his intestines on the ground, and did not strike him again, and he died. Then Joab and his brother Abishai pursued Sheba the son of Bichri.

^25 (A)But it happened in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the royal ^[a]family, came ^[b]with ten men and struck Gedaliah down so that he died along with the Jews and the Chaldeans who were with him at Mizpah.
