18 Act now! For the Lord has said to David, ‘By the hand of my servant David I will save[a] my people Israel from[b] the Philistines and from all their enemies.’”

19 Then Abner spoke privately with[c] the Benjaminites. Abner also went to Hebron to inform David privately[d] of all that Israel and the entire house of Benjamin had agreed to.[e] 20 When Abner, accompanied by twenty men, came to David in Hebron, David prepared a banquet for Abner and the men who were with him.

19 And Abner also spake in the ears of Benjamin: and Abner went also to speak in the ears of David in Hebron all that seemed good to Israel, and that seemed good to the whole house of Benjamin.

20 So Abner came to David to Hebron, and twenty men with him. And David made Abner and the men that were with him a feast.
