En el año noveno de Oseas, el rey de Asiria tomó Samaria(A) y se llevó a Israel al destierro(B) en Asiria, y los puso en Halah y en Habor, río de Gozán(C), y en las ciudades de los medos(D).

Esto sucedió porque los israelitas habían pecado contra el Señor su Dios(E), que los había sacado de la tierra de Egipto de bajo la mano de Faraón, rey de Egipto(F), y habían reverenciado a otros dioses(G); y anduvieron en las costumbres de las naciones que el Señor había arrojado de delante de los israelitas(H), y en las costumbres de los reyes de Israel que ellos habían introducido(I).

In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria(A) captured Samaria(B) and deported(C) the Israelites to Assyria. He settled them in Halah, in Gozan(D) on the Habor River and in the towns of the Medes.

Israel Exiled Because of Sin

All this took place because the Israelites had sinned(E) against the Lord their God, who had brought them up out of Egypt(F) from under the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. They worshiped other gods and followed the practices of the nations(G) the Lord had driven out before them, as well as the practices that the kings of Israel had introduced.

In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the Lord their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,

And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the Lord cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.

Exile Because of Idolatry

And this occurred because the people of Israel had sinned against the Lord their God, (F)who had brought them up out of the land of Egypt from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods (G)and walked in the customs of the nations whom the Lord drove out before the people of Israel, (H)and in the customs that the kings of Israel had practiced.
