2 Kings 8:7-9
The Message
7 Elisha traveled to Damascus. Ben-Hadad, king of Aram, was sick at the time. He was told, “The Holy Man is in town.”
8 The king ordered Hazael, “Take a gift with you and go meet the Holy Man. Ask God through him, ‘Am I going to recover from this sickness?’”
9 Hazael went and met with Elisha. He brought with him every choice thing he could think of from Damascus—forty camel-loads of items! When he arrived he stood before Elisha and said, “Your son Ben-Hadad, king of Aram, sent me here to ask you, ‘Am I going to recover from this sickness?’”

7 Then Elisha went to Damascus, and (A)Ben-Hadad king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, “The man of God has come here.” 8 And the king said to (B)Hazael, (C)“Take a present in your hand, and go to meet the man of God, and (D)inquire of the Lord by him, saying, ‘Shall I recover from this disease?’ ” 9 So (E)Hazael went to meet him and took a present with him, of every good thing of Damascus, forty camel-loads; and he came and stood before him, and said, “Your son Ben-Hadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, ‘Shall I recover from this disease?’ ”

Hazael Murders Ben-hadad
7 Now Elisha came to (A)Damascus. (B)Ben-hadad the king of Syria was sick. And when it was told him, “The man of God has come here,” 8 the king said to (C)Hazael, (D)“Take a present with you and go to meet the man of God, (E)and inquire of the Lord through him, saying, ‘Shall I recover from this sickness?’” 9 So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, all kinds of goods of Damascus, forty camels' loads.
