Gedaliah Made Governor

²² Now as for the people who were left in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, he appointed ^(A)Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan over them.

²⁴ But the hand of ^(A)Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, so that he was ^(B)not given into the hands of the people to put him to death.
