²² He abandoned the Lord God of his ancestors^(A) and did not walk in the ways of the Lord.^(B)

²³ Amon’s servants conspired against him and put the king to death in his own house.^{(C) 24} The common people^[a] killed^(D) all who had conspired against King Amon, and they made his son Josiah^(E) king in his place.
