2 Kings 13:21-23
New English Translation
21 One day some men[a] were burying a man when they spotted[b] a raiding party. So they threw the dead man[c] into Elisha’s tomb. When the body[d] touched Elisha’s bones, the dead man[e] came to life and stood on his feet.
22 Now King Hazael of Syria oppressed Israel throughout Jehoahaz’s reign.[f] 23 But the Lord had mercy on them and felt pity for them.[g] He extended his favor to them[h] because of the promise he had made[i] to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He has been unwilling to destroy them or remove them from his presence to this very day.[j]

21 Once while some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders; so they threw the man’s body into Elisha’s tomb. When the body touched Elisha’s bones, the man came to life(A) and stood up on his feet.
22 Hazael king of Aram oppressed(B) Israel throughout the reign of Jehoahaz. 23 But the Lord was gracious to them and had compassion and showed concern for them because of his covenant(C) with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. To this day he has been unwilling to destroy(D) them or banish them from his presence.(E)
