²⁸ His officers carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem and buried him in his tomb with his ancestors in the city of David.^(A)

²⁴ So his servants took him out of the chariot and carried him in his second chariot^[a] and brought him to Jerusalem. There he died and was buried in the tombs of his ancestors. All Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.^(A)

²¹ It was Jozacar son of Shimeath and Jehozabad son of Shomer, his servants, who struck him down, so that he died. He was buried with his ancestors in the city of David; then his son Amaziah succeeded him.^(A)
