¹⁴ Then he departed from Elisha and came to his master, who said to him, “What did Elisha say to you?” And he answered, “He told me ^(A)that you would certainly recover.”

¹⁰ And Elisha said to him, ^(A)“Go, say to him, ‘You shall certainly recover,’ but^[a] the Lord has shown me that ^(B)he shall certainly die.”

¹⁶ And from that moment he sought an opportunity ^(A)to betray him.

²⁵ He went in and stood before his master, and Elisha said to him, “Where have you been, Gehazi?” And he said, “Your servant went nowhere.”
