⁷ The Lord was with him; wherever he went, he prospered. He rebelled against the king of Assyria and would not serve him.^(A)

⁷ Ahaz sent messengers to King Tiglath-pileser of Assyria, saying, “I am your servant and your son. Come up and rescue me from the hand of the king of Aram and from the hand of the king of Israel, who are attacking me.”^(A)

² The Lord was with Joseph, and he became a successful man; he was in the house of his Egyptian master.^{(A) 3} His master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord caused all that he did to prosper in his hands.^(B)

³¹ What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?^(A)

²⁰ and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”^[a]

³⁰ This same Hezekiah closed the upper outlet of the waters of Gihon and directed them down to the west side of the city of David. Hezekiah prospered in all his works.^(A)

²¹ And every work that he undertook in the service of the house of God and in accordance with the law and the commandments, to seek his God, he did with all his heart, and he prospered.

¹⁴ David had success in all his undertakings, for the Lord was with him.^(A)
