²⁷ Then the king of Assyria commanded, “Send there one of the priests whom you carried away from there, and let him^[a] go and dwell there and teach them the law of the god of the land.”

¹⁵ and he appointed his own ^(A)priests for the high places and for the goat idols and for ^(B)the calves that he had made.

^2 (A)And the man cried against the altar by the word of the Lord and said, “O altar, altar, thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, a son shall be born to the house of David, ^(B)Josiah by name, and he shall sacrifice on you the priests of the high places who make offerings on you, and human bones shall be burned on you.’”

³¹ He also made ^(A)temples on high places and ^(B)appointed priests from among all the people, who were not of the Levites.

¹³ Then Micah said, “Now I know that the Lord will prosper me, because I have a Levite as priest.”
