²⁵ Then ^(A)Jeremiah chanted a song of mourning for Josiah. And all the male and female singers speak about Josiah in their songs of mourning to this day. And they made them an ordinance in Israel; behold, they are also written in the Lamentations.

¹⁷ This is what the Lord of armies says:

⁶ Both ^(A)great people and small will die in this land; they will not be buried, people will not mourn for them, nor will anyone ^(B)make cuts on himself or have his head ^(C)shaved for them.

¹⁷ Groan silently; do ^(A)no mourning for the dead. Bind on your turban and put your sandals on your feet, and do not ^[a]cover your mustache, and ^(B)do not eat the ^[b]bread of other people.”
