8 (A)Were not the Ethiopians and Libyans a vast army, with great numbers of chariots and horses? And yet, because you relied on the Lord, he delivered them into your power. 9 The eyes of the Lord roam over the whole earth,(B) to encourage those who are devoted to him wholeheartedly. You have acted foolishly in this matter, for from now on you will have wars.” 10 But Asa became angry with the seer and imprisoned him in the stocks, so greatly was he enraged at him over this. Asa also oppressed some of his people at this time.

New International Version
8 Were not the Cushites[a](A) and Libyans a mighty army with great numbers(B) of chariots and horsemen[b]? Yet when you relied on the Lord, he delivered(C) them into your hand. 9 For the eyes(D) of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish(E) thing, and from now on you will be at war.(F)”
10 Asa was angry with the seer because of this; he was so enraged that he put him in prison.(G) At the same time Asa brutally oppressed some of the people.
