³² Then he made all who were present in Jerusalem and in Benjamin pledge themselves to it. And the inhabitants of Jerusalem acted according to the covenant of God, the God of their ancestors.

¹⁰ Yet for all this her false sister Judah did not return to me with her whole heart but only in pretense, says the Lord.^(A)

² Keep^[a] the king’s command, and because of your sacred oath^(A)

¹⁶ He also restored the altar of the Lord and offered on it sacrifices of well-being and of thanksgiving, and he commanded Judah to serve the Lord the God of Israel.

¹² The hand of God was also on Judah to give them one heart to do what the king and the officials commanded by the word of the Lord.

²⁹ When the offering was finished, the king and all who were present with him bowed down and worshiped.^(A)

⁴ and commanded Judah to seek the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and to keep the law and the commandment.

¹⁹ No, for I have chosen^[a] him, that he may charge his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”^(A)
