²⁷ Then Hezekiah commanded that the burnt offering be offered on the altar. And when the burnt offering began, ^(A)the song to the Lord began also, and the trumpets, accompanied by the instruments of David king of Israel.

¹⁸ And Jehoiada posted watchmen for the house of the Lord under the direction of ^(A)the Levitical priests and the Levites ^(B)whom David had organized to be in charge of the house of the Lord, to offer burnt offerings to the Lord, ^(C)as it is written in the Law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, ^(D)according to the order of David.

His Steadfast Love Endures Forever

²¹ And when he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to the Lord and praise him ^(A)in holy attire, as they went before the army, and say,

³ When all the people of Israel saw the fire come down and the glory of the Lord on the temple, they bowed down with their faces to the ground on the pavement and worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying, “For he is good, ^(A)for his steadfast love endures forever.”
