³ He built the Upper Gate of the house of the Lord, and he built extensively on the wall of ^(A)Ophel.

¹⁴ After this he built a wall outside the City of David on the west side of ^(A)Gihon, in the valley, as far as the entrance of the Fish Gate; and it ^(B)enclosed Ophel, and he raised it to a very great height. Then he put military captains in all the fortified cities of Judah.

²⁶ Moreover ^(A)the Nethinim who dwelt in ^(B)Ophel made repairs as far as the place in front of ^(C)the Water Gate toward the east, and on the projecting tower. ²⁷ After them the Tekoites repaired another section, next to the great projecting tower, and as far as the wall of Ophel.

² Then Pashhur struck Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high ^(A)gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the Lord.

^20 (A)Then he took the captains of hundreds, the nobles, the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and brought the king down from the house of the Lord; and they went through the Upper Gate to the king’s house, and set the king on the throne of the kingdom.
