^6 (A)Then he returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds which he had received at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And ^[a]Azariah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.

¹⁵ But ^(A)King ^[a]Joram had returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds which the Syrians had inflicted on him when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, “If you are so minded, let no one leave or escape from the city to go and tell it in Jezreel.”

⁷ His going to Joram ^(A)was God’s occasion for Ahaziah’s ^[a]downfall; for when he arrived, ^(B)he went out with ^[b]Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, ^(C)whom the Lord had anointed to ^[c]cut off the house of Ahab.

Ahaziah Reigns in Judah^(A)

22 Then the inhabitants of Jerusalem made ^(B)Ahaziah his youngest son king in his place, for the raiders who came with the ^(C)Arabians into the camp had killed all the ^(D)older sons. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, reigned.

¹⁷ And they came up into Judah and invaded it, and carried away all the possessions that were found in the king’s house, and also ^(A)his sons and his wives, so that there was not a son left to him except ^[a]Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.

^13 (A)Jehu met with the brothers of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, “Who are you?”

So they answered, “We are the brothers of Ahaziah; we have come down to greet the sons of the king and the sons of the queen mother.”

¹⁴ And he said, “Take them alive!” So they took them alive, and ^(B)killed them at the well of ^[a]Beth Eked, forty-two men; and he left none of them.

²⁹ Then ^(A)King Joram went back to Jezreel to recover from the wounds which the Syrians had inflicted on him at ^[a]Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. ^(B)And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.
