⁵ Then Jehoshaphat stood up in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem at the temple of the Lord in the front of the new courtyard

³¹ The king stood by his pillar^(A) and renewed the covenant^(B) in the presence of the Lord—to follow^(C) the Lord and keep his commands, statutes and decrees with all his heart and all his soul, and to obey the words of the covenant written in this book.

Solomon’s Prayer of Dedication^(A)(B)

¹² Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in front of the whole assembly of Israel and spread out his hands. ¹³ Now he had made a bronze platform,^(C) five cubits long, five cubits wide and three cubits high,^[a] and had placed it in the center of the outer court. He stood on the platform and then knelt down^(D) before the whole assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward heaven.

¹⁵ And Hezekiah prayed to the Lord: “Lord, the God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim,^(A) you alone^(B) are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth. ¹⁶ Give ear,^(C) Lord, and hear;^(D) open your eyes,^(E) Lord, and see; listen to the words Sennacherib has sent to ridicule the living God.

¹⁷ “It is true, Lord, that the Assyrian kings have laid waste these nations and their lands. ¹⁸ They have thrown their gods into the fire and destroyed them, for they were not gods^(F) but only wood and stone, fashioned by human hands.^{(G) 19} Now, Lord our God, deliver^(H) us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms^(I) of the earth may know^(J) that you alone, Lord, are God.”
