8 Even Assyria^(O) has joined them
    to reinforce Lot’s descendants.^[a](P)

⁹ Do to them as you did to Midian,^(Q)
    as you did to Sisera^(R) and Jabin^(S) at the river Kishon,^(T)
10 who perished at Endor^(U)
    and became like dung^(V) on the ground.
¹¹ Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb,^(W)
    all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,^(X)
12 who said, “Let us take possession^(Y)
    of the pasturelands of God.”

²⁰ Should good be repaid with evil?^(A)
    Yet they have dug a pit^(B) for me.
Remember that I stood^(C) before you
    and spoke in their behalf^(D)
    to turn your wrath away from them.

¹³ Evil will never leave the house
    of one who pays back evil^(A) for good.^(B)

¹² They repay me evil for good^(A)
    and leave me like one bereaved.

⁴ if I have repaid my ally with evil
    or without cause^(A) have robbed my foe—
