1 Samuel 22:20-23
New International Version
20 But one son of Ahimelek son of Ahitub,(A) named Abiathar,(B) escaped and fled to join David.(C) 21 He told David that Saul had killed the priests of the Lord. 22 Then David said to Abiathar, “That day, when Doeg(D) the Edomite was there, I knew he would be sure to tell Saul. I am responsible for the death of your whole family. 23 Stay with me; don’t be afraid. The man who wants to kill you(E) is trying to kill me too. You will be safe with me.”

I have caused the death of all the persons of your father’s [a]house. 23 Stay with me; do not fear. (C)For he who seeks my life seeks your life, but with me you shall be safe.”
