⁷ for ^(A)we brought nothing into the world, and^[a] we cannot take anything out of the world.

²¹ And he said, ^(A)“Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I ^(B)return. The Lord ^(C)gave, and the Lord has taken away; ^(D)blessed be the name of the Lord.”

²⁰ But God said to him, ^(A)‘Fool! ^(B)This night ^(C)your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, ^(D)whose will they be?’ ²¹ So is the one ^(E)who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”

^15 (A)As he came from his mother's womb he shall go again, naked as he came, and shall take nothing for his toil that he may carry away in his hand. ¹⁶ This also is a grievous evil: just as he came, so shall he go, and what ^(B)gain is there to him who ^(C)toils for the wind?

²² The poor man died and was carried by ^(A)the angels ^(B)to Abraham's side.^[a] The rich man also died and was buried, ²³ and in ^(C)Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and ^(D)saw Abraham far off and Lazarus ^(E)at his side.
