^10 (A)but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works.

^12 (A)having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, ^(B)they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.

^3 (A)Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— ⁴ rather let it be ^(B)the hidden person of the heart, with the ^[a]incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. ⁵ For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands,

Dorcas Restored to Life

³⁶ At Joppa there was a certain disciple named ^[a]Tabitha, which is translated ^[b]Dorcas. This woman was full ^(A)of good works and charitable deeds which she did.

¹¹ Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be ^(A)in holy conduct and godliness,

⁶ to knowledge self-control, to self-control ^[a]perseverance, to perseverance godliness, ⁷ to godliness brotherly kindness, and ^(A)to brotherly kindness love. ⁸ For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither ^[b]barren ^(B)nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

^8 (A)This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.

¹⁰ For we are ^(A)His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
