³ Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, “^(A)If you are returning to the Lord with all your heart, then ^(B)remove the foreign gods and the ^(C)Ashtaroth from among you, and ^(D)direct your hearts to the Lord and ^(E)serve Him alone; and He will save you from the hand of the Philistines.”

^9 (A)but if you return to Me and keep My commandments and do them, though those of you who have been scattered were in the most remote part of the heavens, I ^(B)will gather them from there and bring them ^(C)to the place where I have chosen to have My name dwell.’

²² And you will desecrate your carved ^(A)images plated with silver, and your cast metal ^(B)images plated with gold. You will scatter them as a filthy thing, and say to ^[a]them, “^(C)Be gone!”

³⁰ “Therefore I will judge you, house of Israel, each according to his conduct,” declares the Lord God. “^(A)Repent and turn away from all your offenses, so that wrongdoing does not become a stumbling block to you.
