⁸ So they sent word and ^(A)gathered all the governors of the Philistines to them, and said, “What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel?” And they said, “Have the ark of the God of Israel ^[a]brought to Gath.” So they took the ark of the God of Israel away.

⁶ Now he went out and ^(A)fought against the Philistines, and broke down the wall of Gath, the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod; and he built cities in the area of Ashdod and among the Philistines.
