¹⁵ Samuel lay down until the morning; then he opened the doors of the Lord’s house. He was afraid to tell Eli the vision,

⁷ Only I, Daniel, saw the vision.^(A) The men who were with me did not see it,^(B) but a great terror fell on them,^(C) and they ran and hid. ⁸ I was left alone, looking at this great vision.^(D) No strength was left in me; my face grew deathly pale,^[a](E) and I was powerless.

¹⁶ Suddenly one with human likeness^(A) touched my lips.^(B) I opened my mouth and said to the one standing in front of me, “My lord, because of the vision, anguish overwhelms me and I am powerless.^(C)

¹⁰ I was in the Spirit^[a](A) on the Lord’s day, and I heard a loud voice behind me like a trumpet^{(B) 11} saying, “Write^(C) on a scroll^[b] what you see and send it to the seven churches: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”
