8 Abişai a zis lui David: „Dumnezeu dă astăzi pe vrăjmaşul tău în mâinile tale; lasă-mă, te rog, să-l lovesc cu suliţa mea şi să-l pironesc dintr-o lovitură în pământ, ca să n-am nevoie să-i mai dau alta.” 9 Dar David a zis lui Abişai: „Nu-l omorî! Căci cine(A) ar putea pune mâna pe unsul Domnului şi să rămână nepedepsit?” 10 Şi David a zis: „Viu este Domnul că numai Domnul(B) îl poate lovi; fie că-i va veni ziua(C) să moară, fie că se va pogorî(D) într-un câmp de bătaie şi va pieri.

8 Then Abishai said to David, (A)“God has delivered your enemy into your hand this day. Now therefore, please, let me strike him [a]at once with the spear, right to the earth; and I will not have to strike him a second time!”
9 But David said to Abishai, “Do not destroy him; (B)for who can stretch out his hand against the Lord’s anointed, and be guiltless?” 10 David said furthermore, “As the Lord lives, (C)the Lord shall strike him, or (D)his day shall come to die, or he shall (E)go out to battle and perish.

8 Abishai said to David, “Today God has delivered your enemy into your hands. Now let me pin him to the ground with one thrust of the spear; I won’t strike him twice.”
9 But David said to Abishai, “Don’t destroy him! Who can lay a hand on the Lord’s anointed(A) and be guiltless?(B) 10 As surely as the Lord lives,” he said, “the Lord himself will strike(C) him, or his time(D) will come and he will die,(E) or he will go into battle and perish.
