20 Ea a încălecat pe un măgar, a pogorât muntele pe un drum tufos şi iată că David şi oamenii lui se pogorau în faţa ei, aşa că i-a întâlnit. 21 David zisese: „În zadar am păzit tot ce are omul acesta în pustie de nu s-a luat nimic din tot ce are, căci mi-a întors(A) rău pentru bine. 22 Dumnezeu să pedepsească(B) pe robul său David cu toată asprimea dacă voi mai lăsa să rămână până la lumina zilei pe cineva(C) de parte bărbătească(D) din tot ce este al lui Nabal!”

20 As she came riding her donkey into a mountain ravine, there were David and his men descending toward her, and she met them. 21 David had just said, “It’s been useless—all my watching over this fellow’s property in the wilderness so that nothing of his was missing.(A) He has paid(B) me back evil(C) for good. 22 May God deal with David,[a] be it ever so severely,(D) if by morning I leave alive one male(E) of all who belong to him!”
