¹³ As the proverb of the ancients says, ‘^(A)Out of the wicked comes forth wickedness’; but my hand shall not be against you.

²² “Son of man, what is this ^(A)proverb you people have concerning the land of Israel, saying, ‘The ^(B)days are long and every ^(C)vision fails’? ²³ Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “I will make this proverb cease so that they will no longer use it as a proverb in Israel.” But tell them, “^(D)The days draw near as well as the ^[a]fulfillment of every vision.

² “^(A)What do you mean by using this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying,

³ As I live,” declares the Lord ^[b]God, “you are surely not going to use this proverb in Israel anymore.
