1 Samuel 2:7-8

⁷ The Lord brings poverty and gives wealth;^(A)
he humbles and he exalts.^(B)
8 He raises the poor from the dust^(C)
and lifts the needy from the trash heap.^(D)
He seats them with noblemen^(E)
and gives them a throne of honor.^[a]
For the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s;^(F)
he has set the world on them.^(G)
