16 Samuel le dijo a Saúl:
—¡Espera! Déjame decirte lo que el SEÑOR me dijo anoche.
Saúl contestó:
—Está bien, dime lo que te dijo.
17 Samuel dijo:
—Antes te considerabas alguien sin importancia, pero luego te convertiste en líder de las tribus de Israel. El SEÑOR te eligió como rey de Israel. 18 El SEÑOR te envió en una misión y te dijo: “Ve y destruye a todos los amalecitas porque son malvados. Destrúyelos a todos. Lucha contra ellos hasta que los destruyas totalmente”.

16 “Enough!” Samuel said to Saul. “Let me tell you what the Lord said to me last night.”
“Tell me,” Saul replied.
17 Samuel said, “Although you were once small(A) in your own eyes, did you not become the head of the tribes of Israel? The Lord anointed you king over Israel. 18 And he sent you on a mission, saying, ‘Go and completely destroy those wicked people, the Amalekites; wage war against them until you have wiped them out.’
