²² Also, all the men of Israel who had hidden themselves on Mount Ephraim, when they heard that the Philistines had fled, they followed after them in the battle.

²³ And so, the LORD saved Israel that day. And the battle continued to Beth Aven.

²⁴ And at that time, the men of Israel were hard-pressed that day. For Saul charged the people with an oath, saying, “Cursed is the man who eats food before night, so that I may be avenged of my enemies.” So, none of the people tasted sustenance.
