Vương Quốc của Ða-vít Ðược Vững Lập
(2 Sa 5:11-16)
14 Hi-ram vua Ty-rơ sai các sứ giả đến yết kiến Ða-vít, mang theo gỗ bá hương, các thợ nề, và các thợ mộc để xây một cung điện cho ông. 2 Bấy giờ Ða-vít nhận biết Chúa đã lập ông làm vua trên I-sơ-ra-ên, và vì cớ dân I-sơ-ra-ên của ông mà vương quyền của ông được tôn trọng.
3 Ða-vít cưới thêm nhiều vợ khi ở Giê-ru-sa-lem, và Ða-vít sinh nhiều con trai và con gái. 4 Ðây là tên các con của ông đã sinh ra ở Giê-ru-sa-lem: Sam-mua, Sô-báp, Na-than, Sa-lô-môn, 5 Íp-ha, Ê-li-sua, Ên-pê-lết, 6 Nô-ga, Nê-phéc, Gia-phia, 7 Ê-li-sa-ma, Bê-ên-gia-đa, và Ê-li-phê-lết.
Ðánh Bại Dân Phi-li-tin
(2 Sa 5:17-25)
8 Khi dân Phi-li-tin nghe rằng Ða-vít đã được xức dầu làm vua trên toàn cõi I-sơ-ra-ên, toàn thể đại quân Phi-li-tin kéo lên tầm nã Ða-vít. Nghe tin đó Ða-vít dẫn quân ra đối phó với chúng. 9 Lúc ấy quân Phi-li-tin đã xâm lăng và cướp bóc ở Thung Lũng Rê-pha-im. 10 Ða-vít cầu vấn thánh ý Ðức Chúa Trời, “Con có nên đi lên đánh đuổi quân Phi-li-tin không? Ngài sẽ ban chúng vào tay con không?”
Chúa phán với ông, “Hãy đi lên. Ta sẽ ban chúng vào tay ngươi.” 11 Vậy ông đi lên Ba-anh Pê-ra-xim, và Ða-vít đánh bại chúng tại đó.
Ða-vít nói, “Ðức Chúa Trời đã dùng tay tôi đánh bại quân thù của tôi như nước vỡ ào ạt tuôn tràn.” Vì thế nơi đó được gọi là Ba-anh Pê-ra-xim. 12 Chúng bỏ lại hình tượng các thần của chúng ở đó để chạy cứu mạng. Ða-vít truyền đem chúng thiêu rụi hết trong lửa.
13 Sau đó quân Phi-li-tin trở lại và cướp bóc trong thung lũng. 14 Ða-vít cầu vấn Ðức Chúa Trời nữa, lần nầy Ðức Chúa Trời phán với ông, “Ngươi sẽ không đi lên đối đầu trực diện với chúng, nhưng sẽ đi vòng và tấn công chúng từ phía trước rừng cây nhựa thơm. 15 Khi ngươi nghe tiếng động của đoàn quân tiến bước trên các ngọn cây nhựa thơm, hãy đổ xô ra tấn công chúng, vì Ðức Chúa Trời sẽ đi trước ngươi để đánh bại đội quân của dân Phi-li-tin.” 16 Ða-vít làm y như Ðức Chúa Trời đã truyền cho ông, và họ đã đánh bại quân Phi-li-tin từ Ghi-bê-ôn cho đến Ghê-xe. 17 Danh tiếng của Ða-vít vang rộng khắp các nước. Chúa làm cho các dân các nước khiếp sợ ông.

14 Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.
2 And David perceived that the Lord had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.
3 And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.
4 Now these are the names of his children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
5 And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,
6 And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
7 And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.
8 And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.
9 And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
10 And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? And wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the Lord said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.
11 So they came up to Baalperazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baalperazim.
12 And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.
13 And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.
14 Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
15 And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.
16 David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.
17 And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the Lord brought the fear of him upon all nations.

14 Now (B)Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, with masons and carpenters, to build him a house. 2 So David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel, for his kingdom was (C)highly exalted for the sake of His people Israel.
3 Then David took more wives in Jerusalem, and David begot more sons and daughters. 4 And (D)these are the names of his children whom he had in Jerusalem: [a]Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon, 5 Ibhar, [b]Elishua, [c]Elpelet, 6 Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, 7 Elishama, [d]Beeliada, and Eliphelet.
The Philistines Defeated(E)
8 Now when the Philistines heard that (F)David had been anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to search for David. And David heard of it and went out against them. 9 Then the Philistines went and made a raid (G)on the Valley of [e]Rephaim. 10 And David (H)inquired of God, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?”
The Lord said to him, “Go up, for I will deliver them into your hand.”
11 So they went up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. Then David said, “God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore they called the name of that place [f]Baal Perazim. 12 And when they left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.
13 (I)Then the Philistines once again made a raid on the valley. 14 Therefore David inquired again of God, and God said to him, “You shall not go up after them; circle around them, (J)and come upon them in front of the mulberry trees. 15 And it shall be, when you hear a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.” 16 So David did as God commanded him, and they drove back the army of the Philistines from [g]Gibeon as far as Gezer. 17 Then (K)the fame of David went out into all lands, and the Lord (L)brought the fear of him upon all nations.
