⁵¹ and he stationed a garrison in each to harass Israel. ⁵² He also fortified the city of Beth-zur, Gazara, and the citadel, and in them he placed soldiers and stores of provisions. ⁵³ He took the sons of the leading men of the country as hostages and placed them under guard in the citadel at Jerusalem.
