New American Standard Bible 1995
27 It came about at noon, that Elijah mocked them and said, “Call out with a loud voice, for he is a god; either he is occupied or gone aside, or is on a journey, or perhaps he is asleep and needs to be awakened.” 28 So they cried with a loud voice and (A)cut themselves according to their custom with swords and lances until the blood gushed out on them. 29 When midday was past, they [a]raved (B)until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice; but there was no voice, no one answered, and no [b]one paid attention.

1 Kings 18:27-29
Living Bible
27 About noontime, Elijah began mocking them.
“You’ll have to shout louder than that,” he scoffed, “to catch the attention of your god! Perhaps he is talking to someone, or is out sitting on the toilet, or maybe he is away on a trip, or is asleep and needs to be wakened!”
28 So they shouted louder and, as was their custom, cut themselves with knives and swords until the blood gushed out. 29 They raved all afternoon until the time of the evening sacrifice, but there was no reply, no voice, no answer.
