21 ^(A)Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and Jehoram his son reigned in his place.

^5 (A)Jehoram was ^(B)thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. ^6 (C)And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done, for ^(D)the daughter of Ahab was his wife. And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. ⁷ Yet the Lord was not willing to destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and since he had promised to give ^(E)a lamp to him and to his sons forever.

Jehoram Reigns in Judah

¹⁶ In the fifth year of ^(A)Joram the son of Ahab, king of Israel, when Jehoshaphat was king of Judah,^[a] Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, began to reign. ¹⁷ He was ^(B)thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. ¹⁸ And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done, for ^(C)the daughter of Ahab was his wife. And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.

⁴⁰ So Ahab slept with his fathers, and Ahaziah his son reigned in his place.

²⁴ And Asa slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father, and ^(A)Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place.

³¹ And Rehoboam slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. ^(A)His mother's name was Naamah the Ammonite. And ^(B)Abijam his son reigned in his place.

⁴³ And Solomon ^(A)slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David his father. And ^(B)Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.
