¹² Arise therefore, go to your house. ^(A)When your feet enter the city, the child shall die.

⁵⁰ Jesus said to him, “Go; your son will live.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went on his way. ⁵¹ As he was going down, his servants^[a] met him and told him that his son was recovering. ⁵² So he asked them the hour when he began to get better, and they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour^[b] the fever left him.”

¹⁶ and said to him, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Because you have sent messengers to inquire of ^(A)Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron—is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word?—therefore you shall not come down from the bed to which you have gone up, but you shall surely die.’”

⁶ And they said to him, “There came a man to meet us, and said to us, ‘Go back to the king who sent you, and say to him, Thus says the Lord, Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending to inquire of ^(A)Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed to which you have gone up, but you shall surely die.’”

¹⁶ And he will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he sinned and made Israel to sin.”

¹⁷ Then Jeroboam's wife arose and departed and came to ^(A)Tirzah. And ^(B)as she came to the threshold of the house, the child died.

^3 (A)Take with you ten loaves, some cakes, and a jar of honey, and go to him. He will tell you what shall happen to the child.”
